This is a blue metallic mamachari with carrier, basket and high handlebars.

It has long mudguards, a chainguard and a stand. It also has a full 2 year warranty

This is a light blue used mamachari with 3 speed nexus hub gearing, stainless steel basket, upright (sit up and beg) riding position, easy to adjust comfortable seat, with chainguard, long mudguards and 26 1 3/8″ wheels.  It has been fully serviced and rides like new. It has a full warranty of 2 years.

This  is a Miyata folding mamachari. It has 20″ compound wheels and a bell. It is a really simple lightweight bike from one of Japans premier manufacturers.

This is a fully serviced Linus bike with Sella Italia Turbo seat and matching white grips. It has a back pedal coaster brake and calliper front brake. Comes with a kickstand and bell. It is second hand with some paint chips from use.

This dark blue, 3-speed beauty has been subject to the full Mamachari Bicycles treatment and is a dream to ride. It has caliper front brakes and drum back brakes, 26 inch wheels with wide tyres, an extra wide comfy seat, a bugle horn, chain guard, mudguards and a mirror on the handle bars.

GEARING

Shimano nexus hubs 3, 7 and 8 speed

We can add extra gears to our predominantly single-speed Japanese bicycles.  If you have found a bike that you like and you want gears, we can install one of three different hubs with gears in the wheel.  This means our bikes will still have chainguards, the bikes remain low-maintenance, and you will have a similar range of gears to sports bikes.  All of the hubs come with rear coaster brakes as standard, meaning you can stop like you used to.

3 speed              $245

7 speed              $320     (equivalent to a 12 speed derailleur: think of a 1980′s ten speed)

8 speed              $410      (equivalent to a 21 speed derailleur: the same range as a basic older mountain bike)

All prices include installation and a coaster brake.  We require a 50% deposit on the total price of the bike, including the new hub.  We can retro-fit these gears to either 26″ or 27″ bikes and it will take about two weeks to complete.  Approach those hills with confidence!

TYRES

Just arrived white tyres for Mamachari Bicycles,  sized for either 26″ and 27″ only $30. We had these manufactured to order so no-one else will have these.

We also stock a wide variety of all types of tyres and tubes and can order any tyre you need, be it road bike, moutain bike or Mamachari.
